Great productSep 17, 2009 Two years ago I bought both the leg for the table and the two benches. I then added the 4x2's as directed and came out with an 8' long table and benches. I had planned on making it only 6' long but after seeing it I decided to keep it at 8'. At a family gathering my son, who has five children had them all sitting on one side while his wife and him sat on the other. He commented, "Dad, this is really great, I can sit all the kids on one side and not have them crowed and still have lots of room for Lisa, and I on the other, I should get one of these for our cabin".
One small flaw was when we had some people over and were using the benches around the camp fire, several people of large proportion were sitting on one bench and one of them shifted their weight sideways and the legs on the bench broke. I had to get a new set and make a new bench. This time I made two 4' benches instead of one lone 8'er.
I would recommend this product to anyone looking for good solid back yard furniture.
TIP: Use 2x6' instead of 2x4's to had less cracks and a more uniform top on the tables and benches.
Great Buy!Mar 05, 2009 Simple as it can get! A couple straight cuts of some 2x4's, screw boards in place and you have a nice bench. Put it together in about 30 minutes. Really cost effective way to get a nice bench for your deck or just for hanging out in the backyard.
Great bench, great priceFeb 23, 2009 You can't beat the price or the ease of putting it together. 2x4basics is a great company
Easy ProjectDec 12, 2008 These are great. Just the thing for an easy project that turns out looking great and very usable! I just had Home Depot cut the 2 x 4's for me, stained them the color I wanted and screwed them in to these supports. Great product!

Description needs to be written differentlyJul 27, 2008 Maybe it is just me, but when I purchased this item, I thought I was getting everything I needed. It was only after I purchased that I read customer reviews (I should have read it first) and realized I had to go buy and cut the wood. I did finish it and it is quite nice. So, I guess the description deserves the 2 stars, but the finished product and ease of construction gets 4 stars. It took me quite a while to get it put together...I had trouble getting the screws in straight.
