The lamps are wonderful! They match my decor and are very good quality. The only problem is that the new energy efficient lightbulbs do not fit in these lamps. Otherwise I love them! Thank you.

 Nice looking and inexpensive but cheapAug 16, 2009
I bought these lamps for a rental house, so was attracted by their colonial look and low price. I wasn't looking for family heirlooms. They were time consuming to unpack, and the stem of one broke as I removed it from the packing, and there were minor chips in the bases of all 3. These couldn't have happened when I removed them from their styrofoam. They are inexpensively made, and the bases are soft and chip easily. As the rental house is on and island, and returning them would have required carting them back off the island-- I settled for 3 serviceable lamps. They look nice, and fit in with my colonial cottage. I don't expect them to survive more than a season or two of renters, but they will suffice for now. I think I will raise my price point for their replacements.

 Nice exterior, but...May 01, 2009
This set of lamps looks very nice and the price point is excellent for a 4-piece set. When I received the first shipment I discovered that the base of one of the lamps was snapped in half, and assumed that it was the result of mediocre packaging (lamps are suspended in styrofoam, but there is no styrofoam "lid" between open area and packing box. Amazon very quickly replaced without any problem. The second set arrived and I got everything put together before I noticed that another of the lamps was snapped (at the top near the light fixture). I got to looking closely at the lamps and realized that though these have a very nice exterior they are made of some sort of resin-like material. They appear to be cast and then painted to look like wood or metal. Had I known that was what they were made of, I probably would not have purchased them. I did not return the second set because I already had everything put together and the break in the resin is in an insignificant place (under the lamp shade), but I think it worth mentioning since both shipments arrived that way. Good price, nice looking, but material they are made of is apparently very fragile.

Attractive lamps for a low price ...Apr 25, 2009
The lamps are nice-looking--simple, attractive. The shades are also very simple (cheap shades, but they're neutral and don't draw attention to themselves). The packaging was not enough to protect the lamps in shipping (this is the lowest grade styrofoam packing material I've ever encountered, and bits of it are still littered all over my living room--it crumbles easily). One of the table lamps was broken entirely in half, so I had to return the whole set. Judging from this, it would be safe to deduce that the lamps are not made of high-quality, durable materials, but the price should be a good indicator of that as well. That being said, I still ordered a replacement set. The price is right, they look nice, and I'm not planning to toss them around or use them as chin-up bars: they're going to sit sedately in my living room. (However, if the next set includes a broken lamp, I won't order them again. The amount of time I would have spent unpacking and repacking and returning will at that point have outweighed any money I've saved. The packaging is a rather intricate puzzle).

After looking at lamps in different stores and at different sites I ordered these. I was impressed with the fact that the set came with four instead of the usual three. I was very happy when I received them, the size was perfect and the quality was great. I split them up and have used them in several diffent rooms.
