A sturdy set!Jan 30, 2010 I bought this for my grandchildren for Christmas. It was delivered sooner than expected and easy to put together. The kids have been using it everyday and love having a place to sit that's just their size! It's a very sturdy set and strong enough to accomodate adult weight on the chairs for a tea party!
**TEACHER REVIEW **PREVENTS W SITTING**MOMS READ THIS***Jan 15, 2010 I researched this set for months and finally purchased this for my 21 month old daughter last month once I noticed her "W sitting" which is unfortunately becoming common among the 18 month to 5 year range. Sitting this way prevents children from turning their body from side to side (trunk rotation) and crossing their midline to reach toys and objects - may not seem like a big deal now but these are important skills for the developing child as more advanced motoric skills are dependent upon them. Children with hip dysplasia and other motoric issues should also avoid "W sitting" as doing so can aggravate these issues and in extreme cases cause hip dislocation. Try sitting this way yourself to play with your child and you will see (actually feel - it's very uncomfortable!) what I mean.
I specifically looked into Jonti craft and Kidkraft for their classroom durability and developmental features for young children. I've had both brands in my Kindergarten classroom and they were great.
Anyhow - now I have my daughter sit and stand at the table for various activities. I do have her stand more than sit at this point because her feet don't touch the floor yet with these chairs. When children engage in fine motor tasks their feet should be touching the floor for stability. The table is the perfect height for her and her 5 tear old brother enjoys it as well. The set went together in a flash with the use of my powerdrill (you can use a hex drill bit instead of the allen wrench provided - much faster this way). Yes, some of the holes do not line up perfectly but with a powerdrill it is really not an issue.
I highly recommend this set and am actually looking into purchasing an extra table for the extra little ones who visit! [...]. I really don't think you will be disappointed . . . as a tough-to-please-anal-retentive-nitpicker teacher and mom, take my word for it!
Great Set For The PriceJan 07, 2010 I was pleasantly surprised by the sturdiness of this table and chair set. It was smaller than I was hoping for, but will still get many years of use in my household. There were no missing or damaged parts, and all the pieces lined up correctly...the directions were easy to follow, and assembly was cut and dry--I did wind up using a wrench to help turn the allen wrench, which cut the assembly time in half...not to mention saving my hand! This is a great, sturdy, table :)
A Kid's Joy and place of their own.Dec 05, 2009 The kids fell in love with this set of 4 chairs and one table immediately!! Now you can find them always using it to eat on and play on.
They have definitely claimed it as "Theirs" and know the difference between the adult sized table and their own and use it exactly the same way.
This is a learning device as well as a kid size table, our grand kids using it are in the 2 year old range and large for their ages but fit well on the very sturdy wooden table and chairs.
It was easy to assemble with marked components and the tool necessary was supplied. [an allen wrench].
I was fortunate to secure the last one from the Merchant I purchased it from and it arrived so fast I was shocked, all in one managable box too with no damage to even the shipping box.
Would I go this route in a similar or same purchase again?? Yes I would with no hesitation, good price, fast delivery and a solid product and most importantly of all very satisfied users of same, the grand kids and their friends too..

Grandmother amazed!Nov 18, 2009 We purchased this table and chair set for our 1 1/2 year old grandson to use in our home. This set is AMAZING! I searched and searched and read through many, many reviews trying to find a sturdy set of good quality, one that would fit his age group, and get the most for my money. I chose this one and I am so happy I did. Unlike some of the other reviews, our set had NOT ONE flaw, miss drilled hole, or missing part. The packaging was very secure and protective; the instructions were perfect, easy to follow, and came with the necessary tools. It does takes some strength to put together (my husband did most of the assembly); the screws and holes had a tight fit, which shows just how sturdy this set is. It's solid, high quality wood. I have already spent hours sitting at the table playing with my grandson (the chairs easily support the weight of an adult). Without a doubt, this will be a treasure that we can pass down through the generations.
