An environmentally friendly material called "engineered wood," a combination of high quality hard wood and soft wood materials which are residuals of other lumber processes. These materials are bonded together with a synthetic resin, then applied to high heat and pressure. The result is dense, strong panels which are then laminated and cut into pieces.
What tools are needed? (Complete assembly instructions are provided with the unit)
Phillips screwdriver and a hammer. Although it may prove helpful during assembly of our larger items, using a power screwdriver could cause damage to your furniture if screws are over tightened. A good and useful buyDec 19, 2009 Its suitable as a kitchen pantry. It holds a lot of stuff and especially useful at places where kitchen cabinets do not have enough storage space. It is working out well for us.

Works for me.Nov 26, 2009 I can't speak for others, but I found this pantry to be nice for the price. Similar units in home improvement stores are around $200 at least and are not easy to find in oak.
This unit is very heavy and although it can be assembled by one person, you definitely need two people to stand it up and move it. The oak is medium oak and should blend in with most other oak decors. Mine was put to use in a kitchen that desperately needed additional cabinet space, and it is working beautifully. If one is very careful in the assembly, it should last a very long time.
There were a couple of small nicks on my unit even though it was packaged well, but these were easily covered up by furniture markers. Even with shipping costs, I think you'd have a hard time beating this deal.

Beat the shipping costsOct 05, 2009 I agree on the shipping costs.....my cheapest option was $125.00. The secret is that this is a Sauder Beginnings Collection Item 110799 (799-230) which can be ordered from Lowe's for $130 plus tax with FREE shipping...total cost ~$140.

I was going to...Sep 28, 2009 [...]
This was the only place that I could find a cabinet. I can use my JCP card for shoes, a shower curtain, but their cabinets are too nice for what I want to use it for--to keep the cats off my texts while in college--cats love to chew on the text's edges for some reason...(rolls eyes). :)
[...]
We want one stop shopping--so help us get that at a fair price.

p.s. thanks to the other review, it is confirmed!
